Mahroomah asked me to lookin to getting DSL for the new house, fine fabulous – and she needs to make sure we somehow get the Yankee Channel. I’ve been online poking around a bit but I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking for – and kaza if you read this type it in here for me K? Should I be looking into one company that will be able to provide both our cable television needs and high speed internet access needs.

All I can say is…..
CHARTER CHARTER CHARTER-, Very fast, good service, can fix your problems by remote, and your cable and internet all on the same bill. Auto-pay & forget.
Good Luck-
See ya Sat
Re: All I can say is…..
We use Charter for our internet access and L-O-V-E it. But for the east coast games, nothin’ beats Direct TV. (According to Chad.) I’m not sure if Charter has the same sort of offer, but D-TV give you east and west coast channels as well as sports packages. It’s sick.
Re: All I can say is…..
charter does have a pak, like that, so you can get all the games, you want
You will probably pay less if you get both from the same company. From talking to my geek friends I gather that there isn’t really any advantage of DSL over cable or the other way around, so if you’re definitely getting cable, go ahead and get your broadband from the same company. It’ll probably only be $10 or $15 tacked onto your cable bill that way.
Unless you’re going to be downloading a lot of movies or something like that, anything that qualifies as “broadband” will be fine. I have the lowest-end DSL I can get and it’s great, no problems. Even people who do a fair amount of downloading have said they’re satisfied with the lowest-end broadband. The higher-end plans are for people who have servers at their house, or do a lot of uploading (moving big files from your computer to another one, like a work computer or something).
Ask people who live in your city, and your neighborhood if possible, what their experiences have been with different companies. Even with nation-wide companies the results can vary from area to area because the telephone lines and cable lines are different. On the other hand, you probably only have a few choices anyway, so even guessing will give you decent odds at getting the best service available.
Hope that’s helpful!
th u helpful friends!
the specific network that we eat, sleep and breathe out here is called YES (yankee entertainment station). i know, we’re sick.
i don’t know if it’s available on the west coast. but the next best thing is any sort of sports, or even more specifically, baseball package.
thanks for the help, all.
mahroommah, you’re the best.
Just say YES…
…to YES. Thanks NYC, now Im hooked on it too. Go Yanks!
