Eighth day of Vacay, CA (or how to appreciate what you haven’t seen); 6/14/2011

Remember…I never finished all these vacation stories.  I have these notes, and because I don’t want to keep this in the “draft” section, I’m going to bullet point the rest of my vacation days from my June 2011 visit

* Took mom to work, got a bagel and coffee from Broadway bagel, and spoke to Mystery Man for an hour or so.

*Had lunch at Upper Crust with Jax!!!  It had been a couple years since I’d seen him.  It was nice to be speaking to him again (nothing was ever wrong, we just…sort of lost touch for a bit).  And seeing him I was sooo happy!  I wore a cute dress outfit Ro let me borrow, and my new hat!  I looked like I lived in NY for once, but none of that actually mattered.

* We went and sat by a lake in Laguna Park (?) in SLOville.  I’d never been there.  We walked through a bit of lawn to a small deck where people would probably get on and off their boats.  We sat down and just chatted.  It was so beautiful.  And quiet, and peaceful.  The sun felt warm and perfect.  The water was lake-color, you know the kind, and the wind tossed it about.  I spoke about school, and work, and getting my esthetician license and getting my health back on track.  It was like time paused and just let me spend some good, quality time with a good friend.  The weather was perfect, the company was perfect.

*  Later I met up with Ginger for some one on one stuff.  I arrived and she was also in a cute dress and hat.  Great thinkers think alike.  I hate that cliche, but it’s true for this one–get off me.  Then we went to Wally World for a few things and she got ready for a date she heading to, at my house.  It was fun to be girly and chit chatty.  She’s so fun

*  Then I went to see Kitten and Peanut.  I saw him and chased after him and he ran into his mom’s room (Kitten) and I tackled him and wrapped my arms around him and smooched his face and told him I missed him, and he said “I missed you too”  and It was soooo cute.  He’s not like that with me all the time.  He’s normally a BOY, not a cuttee patotee.  =)  Loved it.  Kitten and I had some wine and talked about small stuff and important stuff, as always.

* When it got later I met up with Ginger and her date at Mongos for some last time singin’ before headin’ back to the East Coast.  I sang a couple times.  Including “A Whole New World” with Andy (guy at Mongos I’ve known for a few years) and I had Ginger call the MM and tell him what I was singing.

*  Got to see Joely, Shaun & Aja too!  Then it was home for sleep.  Saying my goodbyes to Ginger was hard.

Seventh day of Vacay, CA (or how to gain 15 pounds in 15 hours); 6/13/2011

Remember…I never finished all these vacation stories.  I have these notes, and because I don’t want to keep this in the “draft” section, I’m going to bullet point the rest of my vacation days from my June 2011 visit

* Shower and get REALLY pretty.

* Breakfast with Miranda at The Girls Restaurant.  She’s such a cutee with her bright green eyes.  And her poor broken car…haahahaha le sigh.  It was nice to have just her and me time.

* Boudoir photos with Jen. That’s why I had to get REALLY pretty. Yes, Boudoir.  Except I don’t do the lingerie thing, because I…dont’ do that…?  So I wore jeans and no top for some pics, and a mens button down shirt with just undies for other pics.  It was fun–I had Mimosas.

*  Then I drove up to Atascadero and had lunch with The Rosens.

* Then I drove over to see Nahnnah and Pete and their son, my nephew The Caper, Atreyu.  He bounced around when he saw me yelling out “AUNTIE FISHY!!!”  He calls me that because of Finding Nemo.  so freaking cute.  Pete made a really yummy …stew thing.  And this rice he made was stupid, and I begged him for how to make it, eventually he told me and I had to take pictures of ingredients…and I’ll probably have to text him, email him, or call him when I go to make it just so he can walk me through it.

*  Nahnnah and Atreyu bought ice cream for my visit.  It was THE BEST ice cream because it was Thrifty’s Mint n Chip.

* When it was Atreyu’s bed time he changed into his jammies, brushed his teeth then asked me to snuggle with him for a bit.  I love him.  Your damn right I’ll curl up with that little guy.  SO ADORABLE UUUGGGHHHH

* Stopped by and saw Kaza and had some Moscato, it was a very difficult bottle of wine to open, even with The Rabbit (a very special and important piece of technology designed to make bottle-opening a breeze).  But we got it open, and visited and drank it.  And she showed me clips from The Tony’s

Sixth day of Vacay, Vegas and CA (or how getting the theme right will make me scream); 6/12/2011

Remember…I never finished all these vacation stories.  I have these notes, and because I don’t want to keep this in the “draft” section, I’m going to bullet point the rest of my vacation days from my June 2011 visit

*  We woke our asses up at 4:45 am and got down stairs to checkout by 5:20am and the shuttle picked us up at 5:30am.

* There was a drunken guy that just got out of jail and was talking in his drunken sleep and stupor that got onto the bus, I thought it was funny.  He wasn’t going to be a problem, he was going to be a joke.

* It…Took… forEVER to check in.  Allegiant Air, carry on only line was LONG.  But the check-a-bag lines were longer.  It..took.for…EEEEVVVEEERRR to check in–at least it felt like that.  The plane was late arriving, so we were going to be late leaving–awesome.  In the airport we had Starbuks bagels, they were eh.

* Our flight FINALLY boarded, and we practically crash landed AGAIN.  WHAT THE HELL????

*  Ma and I went to see the Lady Liz.  Liz is my mom’s friend, and they have a standing visit every sunday.  I like Liz and so I got to  go and see her and hang out for a bit too.  Lady Liz had deviled eggs, and scones and fruit salad waiting for us when we arrived, and I had coffee.  Thank the gods for coffee.

*  Liz did a tarot reading for me, I had some specific questions I was interested in talking about and I trust her.  I talked with her about The MM (and yes, I told her his name hahahaha), we talked about my career path and school and most importantly my health.

*  Got home to Maamm’s house and tried to sleep, didn’t happen.  I did laundry then went to sisters house

* We watched the last 4 episodes of Smallville, including the series finale–which I SCREAMED AT AND LOVED AND PRACTICALLY CRIED OVER BECAUSE EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT AND THEY EVEN PLAYED THE REAL SUPERMAN THEME MUSIC AND I FLIPPED MY SHIT… She also made Chicken Enchilada Soup and I almost lost it with excitement.  LOST IT.  Thanks

Fifth day of Vacay, Vegas (or how to drink your mom under the table); 6/11/2011

Remember…I never finished all these vacation stories.  I have these notes, and because I don’t want to keep this in the “draft” section, I’m going to bullet point the rest of my vacation days from my June 2011 visit

* We slept until 11am.  It’s because we stayed out and partied with Paul, you know how Vegas can be.

* Ma and I made it downstairs after showering and getting ready for the day.  We went across the street to a cute coffee house called The Beat Coffee House and Record Store.  We ate Baked french toast, eggs and potatoes.  I had a coconut mocha.  Super yummy.

* We walked around the downtown area, I bought a fun hat and my Maamm bought me and my sister these dresses that wrap in different ways.  They. Are. So. Cool.

* I pooped at the Golden Nugget.  No really, and that’s the name of the Hotel–thanks.

* We heard pretty music and followed it to a bar upstairs where everyone on the patio was listening to the music, and smoking.  But the a/c was in INdoors and the bar was empty. So we took to the bar.  Ma ordered and I ordered a Jamie n Ginger then said “And don’t be shy with that whiskey, I may be a lady but I don’t drink like one”  The bartender smiled and said “gotcha”

*  We had 2  rounds and Noah, our bartender, bought us a round and we had the Brain Hemorrhage shot.  It looks so gross–tastes sweet though.  Ma was totally grossed out, but she drank it like a champ.

* Ma was typsy by then, I wasn’t even warm

* We made it back to the hotel room after a bit of small shopping.  I got shot glasses for the Housemates and Mystery Man.  Ma got Smurf and Rik and Double-T presents, too

* We drank more and hung out and talked more.  Then decided to have dinner at the steakhouse downstairs.  I wore a dress

* I had filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes.  Ma had prime rib and asparagus.  We had a bottle of wine that was free with our purchase.  And we shared a creme brulee dessert.  YUM.  Ma got drunk (heheheh) and I was fine.  She went to sleep soon after we arrived home and I spoke on the phone with the Mystery Man for 2 1/2 hours.  It was lovely.  I never went downstairs to play roullette, like I planned. The smell of that lobby just…frightened me.

Fourth day of Vacay, CA and Vegas (or how Allegiant Air sucks, but Paul rocks); 6/10/2011

Remember…I never finished all these vacation stories.  I have these notes, and because I don’t want to keep this in the “draft” section, I’m going to bullet point the rest of my vacation days from my June 2011 visit

*  Woke up early and packed and did not have coffee.  I showered, and did not have coffee and Maamm and I were out the door to the Santa Maria Airport flying Allegiant Air to Las Vegas

*  Allegiant air does this thing where you can pick your seat, for an added fee–but they don’t really tell you it’s an added fee.  They sort of let that one slip.  My Maamm spend and extra $120 because of that, not okay.  The landing in Vegas was so rough we bounced HARD and most of the people in the cabin let out small fear cries, I was doing a sudoku puzzle.

*  Ma and I had lunch at CPK in the airport.  We split a caesar salad, and a BBQ chicken pizza and it was yum.

* The hotel we stayed at was in Downtown Vegas, which is different from the strip–and a few miles from it.  We stayed and some historical hotel called Cortez…or something like that.  The lobby smelled of old lady perfume and smoke.  I thought it was just some old lady that may have walked by, or maybe they were pumping “air freshner” with the a/c…but nope…there was just…a LOT of old people and their smelly colognes and perfumes.  gross.

*  We got a couple rounds of drinks from a bar in the lobby, played penny and nickel slots, then decided to find a liquor store.  We walked a few blocks and found a store with other trinkets and stuffs that we decided we look at tomorrow.  Maamm got her Three Olives Chocolate Vodka, I got Seagrams 7 and some 7 up and we went back to our hotel room.  Watched TV and ordered pizza.  We drank and got typsy, that was fun.

*  Then we saw PAUL McCARTNEY AT THE MGM.  He played for 2 hours and 45 minutes.  Ma sang along to EVERY SINGLE SONG.  It was amazing.  I took her for her birthday.  I sang along to the songs I knew.  Paul would tell stories.  He is a funny guy.  Then he told us Yoko Ono was there, Olivia Harrison, Sean Lennon, and Nancy (the woman he is dating).  Words cannot describe what an experience it was to see such a legend.  My Mom has been in love with this guy since she was 9, she’s in her fifties now.  Just sayin’

* We took a bus to our hotel and went to sleep.  I could’ve gone downstairs to the smelly old peoples hangout section (the entire hotel lobby) but I decided I was excited to sleep.  That happens as you age…

Third day of Vacay, CA (or How I’m the best drunk ever?); 6/9/2011

Damn.  I never finished all these vacation stories.  I have these notes, and because I don’t want to keep this in the “draft” section, I’m going to bullet point the rest of my vacation days from my June 2011 visit

*  Woke up took mom to work, ginger stayed the night and we got Broadway bagels and coffee. Except she didn’t get coffee, because she is crazy and doesn’t drink the stuff.   how can she not like coffee??

*  We watched most of “Across the universe.”

* Remember I lost my purse???? We were calling EVERYONE that was there, texting them, posting on fb.  The real life issue of my ID in the purse was hitting me and I was supposed to be on a plane to Vegas with my mom the next day.  And back on sunday, then to NY on wednesday. I needed to find that damn purse!

* Ginger and I went to Mongos to see if it was left behind, no such luck. And a random male stranger (random and stranger make that sentence redundant…) bought us bloody mary’s.  My first one actually, and it was super spicy. Yikes.

*  Nick, David’s boyfriend, came through and found it in his car stuff under the seat.  They didn’t see it the first time but when he got in his car for work he saw mascara and lip gloss and then went “oh! a whole purse?!”  So we met up with him in SLOville and retrieved my purse!  I realized I was the best drunk ever because even in my ridiculous state of NOTHING, I managed to grab my purse and put it in the car that took me home–I just…didn’t…take it OUT of the car…

*  Smurf made awesome burritos at home of which Ginger and I both had two as we continued to watch Across the Universe

* I realized my camera…was not in my purse.  Damnit.  Where the hell was it??  So I started checking clothes and other bags and texting people again ‘did i put my camera in your purse?”  No one had it.

* Rik graduated from High School!  We went to the ceremony at AGHS, he was dressed so handsomely and coming down from the  stage he did a double-jump kick and was like “wwwaaaaaaaawwwwwwww”  It’s because he’s cool, and cute.

*  We all went to China Buffet for Rik’s graduation dinner and I gave him a silly kid compass I found in NY and laughed because it was so he could always find his way home.  I also said to him earlier that day “Rik do you have any money to give me?” And without asking or blinking he reached in his wallet and gave me $5.  I asked him if he had more and he laughed and said he wasn’t a money tree.  I laughed and said okay–then I put it in his graduation card.  I. Am. Hilarious.

*  Then it was to Harry’s and Colin and Nahnnah came out.  My dadda also joined and sang Caribbean Queen and Smurf and I danced, it was so funny I hurt myself laughing, and Colin video taped it.  win. Saw Bree-Ann and Sue as well, and Bree-Ann let me take her camera and borrow it for the weekend I was in Vegas with my Mom, since I still hadn’t located my camera.

*  A woman at Harry’s told me I was the celebrity of the night after I sang and she told me my dress rocked–that rocks.

Second day of Vacay, CA (or How I’m not 22 anymore); 6/8/2011

Sleeping in R.i.k’s bed is nice, he lent it to me again this trip and he either sleeps on the couch or at a friends house.  It has black satin sheets and I like sliding around in them until I’m comfortable.  Which normally looks like a weird modern dance pose and I wake up with an achey back…but I slept none the less and only woke up when my mom came in to wake so I could take her to work and borrow her car for the rest of the day.  I double checked with her that Ginger would be comin’ home with me tonight because we were getting tossered and singing our hearts out.  She was glad we’d get home safe and said of COURSE my friend could come over.  I took her to work in my jammies (that’s a tank top and soft pants and slippers…).  I miss the ease of living so close to work that it takes five minutes to get there.  Le sigh.  So, I dropped my Maamm off and headed to Broadway Bagels.  Smurf’s treat!

I got back home with a fifth avenue latte and two spinach cheddar bagels with sundried tomato crem-chez smeared ALL over them.  They were delicious and I wanted 2 more, at least.

I was supposed to go see Ashley Chipette to get a pedicure, now that she was workin’ in Grover but we kept having to reschedule and eventually we just postponed it.  My feet wanted to be pretty for Vegas, but I’ll try to get to her before I head back to NY.  Smurf and I watched TV and just hung out.  Man, it’s nice to not do a damn thing.  Sit on that wonderful reclining couch with a yummy coffee beverage and my younger brother just laughin’ and chattin’ and watchin’ TV.

Eventually I put real clothes on and headed over to pick up my mom for lunch and go to see my big brother Cory, the Chiropractor.  I haven’t been adjusted since January’s visit and MAN I cracked everywhere.  Felt wonderful, I miss it and want it all the time–well…once a week ish.  Dropped mom back off at work and went back home and hung out with Smurf more then got ready for the night.

I had dinner plans with Jack.  I hadn’t seen him or spoken to him in a year and a half and have been feeling sad and incomplete ever since.  I found him on Facebook and messaged him, and he replied and we cried and made plans for dinner when I was in town to catch up, just the two of us.

I took a shower and did my hair and wore and outfit styled by Ro.  My diva/skinny jeans and black boots, her AC DC shirt and dark brown jacket, with wing earrings and chainmail necklace.  I was a rockstar for sure tonight.  I was ready by 6:30pm and Jack was due to arrive at 7pm.  Ready to go, my mom said we should have a shot to celebrate me and Jack getting back together.  Two shots of chocolate vodka and two shots of rootbeer vodka later, he arrived and I screamed when I saw him walking up.  I ran out the screen door and ran to him and wrapped my arms around him.  I missed his laugh and smile.

He came inside and said hello to my maamm and hugged her and to my brother Smurf, who was making some food in the kitchen.  Then we had a shot together and decided on Chili’s for dinner.  I was SO excited about the chicken enchilada soup and a caesar salad I could almost taste it.  Almost.

We hopped in his car, as always it was spotless and smelled good.  We found parking and headed in and ordered REALLY FUN margaritas that came in beautiful HUGE martini glasses and we ordered food and began catching up IMMEDIATELY.  It felt so wonderful to hear about Daniel, and his family.  I missed him.  I sat there looking at him and listening to him and got a little sad for missing out on so much, but at the same time I was so glad we were together again that it felt like that time past quickly and I had just seen him last week.

Time flew quickly and we headed over to Mongos and people began to arrive.  Julia, whom I hadn’t seen since highschool, and found me on facebook and has kept in touch with me pleasantly since then, came out to play.  She’s pretty.  Kevin & Vicki (and I saw her engagement ring.ooooOOOOOOooo), Anna, Smurf, Cincinnati, Ginger Bean, Baby Drill (I’ve known Shannon since she was 9..she’s 25 or 26 now WEIRD) Jack was there, and his fiance Daniel came out eventually, David and Nick were there–and I began to fade…I faded quickly.  More people showed up and i know I hugged them, I know they sang, I know we danced, but I don’t actually remember it.  WOW.  What I remember was 11:29 on my phone, then I remember eating a cheeseburger, then I woke up when my mom knocked.

So I had to filled in a bit.  Apparently I sang…a LOT.  Like…aLOT aLOT aLOT.  And I only remember singing about 3 times.  woops.  There are songs that I sang that I didn’t know I sang.  People I sang with that I didn’t remember singing with and every time the list got longer and people filled in the blanks I kept going….was I okay????  Did I slur the words?  hhahahah Did I NEVER FALL OVER????  And the answers leave with apparently I appeared fine.  Able to hold my liquor like a champ (or lush…depending on who you’re talking to).  I was still having conversations, still singing just fine, still drinkin and not spilling.  Still holding eye contact and engaging with people–not falling over.  But apparently I was very….VERY loud.  So much so that the bartender and security guy tried to hush me or I needed to leave.  um….75% of the people in the bar that night were there with me, for me, to hang out…with …ME.  Drinking and singing–YOU’RE WELCOME.  But I don’t really remember that either.  I probably don’t remember because I had::

4 shots of vodka at my Maamms house

1 margarita with jack

1 Pint size 7&7

1 pint size Grateful dead

1 Scooby Snack shot

1 pint size Jamie & Gingerale

1 Red Headed Slut

1 pint size  AMF

1 pint size purple drink…

and more…accept I don’t remember those because…I was tossered. faded. hammered. slammed.  gone. done.  shblammed. shot. tossed.  drunk. lushed-out, and more.  Don’t tell my aunt, she’ll be reeeaallly worried…

By the end of the night, which I don’t remember I was told this later, David and Nick drove me n Ginger to my Maamms house.  First stopping at Jack n the Crack.  And once home I realized I didnt’ have my purse with me.  F-word.  I also passed out peeing ont he toilet then eventually made it the bed where Ginger removed my boots and jeans and got me to put on m’soft pants and I passed out for the night.  I think I had water?

The purse dilemma hadn’t truly hit me when my head hit the pillow.
